Community Health Today

The U.S. healthcare system is complex.

  • Historical antecedents and differing social, economic, and health environments, have resulted in drastic health disparities
  • Eliminating these disparities requires significant social, political, and economic changes
  • Current practices incentivize expensive clinical-based interventions

How can it be improved?

Policy makers, including state and federal legislators and the President, have called for increased investment in community and public health.
Funding these under-resourced systems is a start, but success also requires technical expertise to implement best-in-class care models, a well-equipped workforce, and sustainable financing to ensure long-term impact.
The real work to create lasting change is just beginning and CHAP is at the vanguard.
