March for Moms

Advocacy and Education for Federal Policymakers, 2020

As two leading consumer-centric non-profits, March for Moms and Every Mother Counts recognized that birthing people and their advocates needed a platform and protective policies to address long-standing poor maternal health outcomes and disparities in the U.S., and to ensure that COVID-19 didn’t further exacerbate these inequities. CHAP provided a grant for the two groups to bring stakeholders together and align advocacy activities to drive policy change. In 2020 and 2021, these advocacy activities included developing a broad public campaign directed towards Congress, including detailed policy recommendations, a consumer-focused advocacy toolkit, and a Fall Congressional Briefing.
