Community Health Workers: The Workforce We Need for the World We Want, 2023
The National Association of Community Health Workers‘ 2023 Annual Meeting and Unity Conference is designed for the association’s Community Health Workers and ally members (across all 50 states who are diverse in race, ethnicity, language, gender, sector and lived experience), who are amplifying Community Health Worker identity, leadership capacity, and sustainability. The theme for 2023 is “Community Health Workers: The Workforce We Need for the World We Want”.
Community Health Worker Capacity Building, 2021
The National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) builds individual and organizational leadership capacity to advance strategies, policies, and programs that center community voice, advance community health worker (CHW) professional values and roles, and drive health system innovation and sustainable change. NACHW provides technical assistance and collaborative opportunities among state and regional CHW networks and associations, state health departments, offices of minority health, and national health disparity and equity partners. NACHW is also a national clearinghouse for CHW policy and conducts and disseminates workforce assessments and research, represents the workforce in policy development and advocacy, convenes conferences, and provides training.
This grant supported NACHW to understand the needs and approaches of national public health organizations for recruiting, training, and integrating CHW staff; offer best practice tools and policies that respect, protect, and partner with authentic community health workers and CHW-led organizations; and facilitate partnerships with states and CHW-led organizations in response to American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding opportunities.
About the National Association of Community Health Workers

NACHW is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership-driven organization with a mission to unify CHWs across geography, ethnicity, sector and experience to support communities to achieve health, equity and social justice.
