Inaugural State Exchange Convening to Take Place in October

CHAP is pleased to be part of the planning committee for the inaugural State Exchange Convening. The convening is a funder-only event dedicated to advancing birth outcomes at the state-level and will be held from October 27-29 in Washington, DC.
Supported by a group composed of representatives from Cambia Health Foundation, California Health Care Foundation, Commonwealth Foundation, Fore Foundation, Irving Harris Foundation, Merck for Mothers, Packard Foundation, Perigee Fund, Pritzker Children’s Initiative, and W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the convening is designed to foster deep discussions among philanthropic funders.
Through hands-on workshops, participants will exchange actionable solutions and strategic approaches toward improving birth outcomes at the state level. The convening will also serve as a platform to network with peers, learn from experts, and contribute to shaping effective interventions for your states.
Examples of what participants can expect to learn about at the convening include:
Learning how to build partnerships with government actors to advance state-wide action plans
Better understanding of how to strategically use philanthropic dollars to unlock federal dollars
Hearing live examples of how philanthropic funders are improving inclusive implementation of Medicaid benefits e.g., expansion and accessibility of Medicaid benefits
Improving tools for supporting community-based leaders and organizations
Understanding how building state-based funder collaboratives can expedite efforts to improve maternal health outcomes through streamlined coordination with government and community partners
